FirstAssistPA places orthopaedic physician assistants with practices and hospitals in California. That's all we do: ortho, and only California.

It's new, and it's small. I'm Anthony Adams, and I started it because ortho PA hiring is a specialty problem that usually gets a generalist answer. Whether a PA can first assist on a total knee, handle a night of trauma call, or run a post-op clinic isn't something a keyword search on a résumé can tell you. The California rules also moved in 2026, and a lot of what practices were told about ratios and 1099 contracts is out of date.

So we start with the details: the cases, the call, the hospitals and the license. We check with surgeons who have worked with a candidate. We plan start dates around real licensing timelines. And we publish what we learn in free guides, with every number sourced, so you can check our work.

Because we're new, we carry the risk: your first placement is free, and if you aren't happy with the PA we place, we find a replacement at no cost.
